Houston, Texas · A software firm specializing in oil & gas royalty fintech
Reconcile your stubs. Catch operator errors. Close at tax time.
Built for mineral owners and oil & gas CPAs. We extract your production data from operator stubs, flag underpayments and deduction changes, and deliver tax-ready reports every month.
The problem
Operator stubs don't reconcile themselves. And tax season arrives fast.
Wells stop paying silently
Operators abandon wells or cut production with no notice. Most owners don't discover the missing payments until year-end tax prep.
Post-production deductions creep
Processing, transportation, treating charges inch higher monthly. No explanation. Your net revenue shrinks without a word from the operator.
Stubs are inconsistent
EOG formats differently than Pioneer. Production volumes, deduction dates, and payment terms vary by operator. Hours of manual spreadsheet work at year-end.
Tax time is chaos
CPAs get shoeboxes of PDFs in December. Owners scramble to verify 1099s against stubs. No time to dispute errors. Just file and hope.
The process
Operator stubs to tax-ready reports in four steps.
Forward your stubs
Email or upload monthly operator statements - PDFs, scans, images. From any operator: EOG, Pioneer, Diamondback, Cabot, BP, or regional E&P.
We parse and extract
OCR reads every line: well identifier, location, BOE produced, price, post-production deductions, net payment, operator name, payment date.
Alerts on errors
Flags underpayments, missing wells, deduction spikes, decimal errors, volume discrepancies - anything that changes from prior month.
Tax-ready output
Dashboard for owners. For CPAs: aggregated files ready for 1099 reconciliation, K-1 schedules, Schedule C, or client portal integration.
What you receive
A reconciled ledger, an exception report, and a tax package.
Reconciled royalty ledger
Every stub line normalized into one ledger: well, operator, product, gross volume, price, each deduction category itemized, and net payment. Updated monthly.
Monthly exception report
Variances against your prior twelve months: deduction rate changes, missing wells, volume swings, price outliers, and decimal interest mismatches, each with the source stub attached.
Year-end tax package
Gross income, deductions, severance and ad valorem taxes by well and by state, formatted for 1099 reconciliation and Schedule E preparation. Excel and CSV exports.

Common questions
The details owners and CPAs ask about.
What file formats do you accept?
PDFs, scans, phone photos, CSVs, and spreadsheets. Operator layouts vary widely and that is expected; if a statement is legible, we can process it.
Which operators do you support?
Any operator that issues a revenue statement, from the majors to single-county E&Ps. New stub layouts are added as they come in, at no charge.
What exactly gets flagged?
Payments below your decimal interest, wells that stop appearing, deduction rates that jump versus your trailing average, volume and price outliers, and year-end totals that do not match the operator's 1099.
What export formats are available?
Excel and CSV for working files, PDF for summaries. Year-end packages are organized by well and by state so they drop into standard tax prep workflows.
How is my data handled?
Statements are encrypted in transit and at rest, access is limited to your account, and your data is never sold or shared. You can request deletion at any time.
Is this tax or legal advice?
No. OX Labs is a data tool. We report what your stubs say and how they changed. Decisions stay with you, your CPA, and your attorney.
